is specifically designed to treat and manage your migraines. This detailed, step-by-step plan may include
the following:
- Medications for rescue when migraines occur, including a layered approach with 'fall back' strategies
- Medications for prevention to decrease the frequency and severity of your migraines
- Explanations of headache medications, side effects and possible interactions with your other medications
- Recommendations for modifying lifestyle elements that contribute to the frequency of your migraines
- Recommendations for therapies that may enhance the management of your migraines
Comprehensive, scientifically-based management for your migraines
- Definitive International Headache Society diagnosis of your headache type
- Identification of factors that affect your migraines, as well as other medical conditions, medications,
and lifestyle elements that contribute to the frequency of your headaches
- Follow-up appointments to maintain and modify treatment plans
- 24-hour e-mail access to health-care team for questions and concerns
- Urgent care/emergency care for acute headache at the Keeler Center or the E.R., including I.V. rescue medications when indicated
- Internet chat room, lectures from headache specialists, and updates on basic and clinical research
- Access to EEG/biofeedback, yoga, physical therapy, nutritional counseling, acupuncture, and other treatment modalities
- Computer links to headache sites
